Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
This policy explains what we do with the information you give us through this website, what we measure while you are on it, and how to ask us to change or delete anything we hold.
Who we are
DDJ Scaffolding Company Limited is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 12051893, with our registered office at First Floor 1 Des Roches Square, Witan Way, Witney, OX28 4BE. We work out of Reading and cover Berkshire and the Thames Valley.
If you have a question about anything on this page, call us on 07506 144 711 or send us a message through the enquiry form.
What we collect when you get in touch
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the address where the scaffolding is needed, and a description of the job. The site address is optional. The rest is not, because we cannot quote for a job or call you back without it.
When you send the form, those details are emailed to us, written to a log file on our own web server so that an enquiry is never lost if an email fails to arrive, and passed to the systems we keep customer records in, described below. The form also records how long it was open before you sent it, which is one of the checks we use to filter out automated spam. It is not used for anything else.
If you phone us, message us on WhatsApp or email us directly, we have your number or address and whatever you choose to tell us.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Answering your enquiry and preparing a quote. Dealing with it is a step taken at your request before any contract, and responding to people who ask us to get in touch is our legitimate interest.
- Keeping a record of quotes and jobs. Our legitimate interest in running the business, and our legal obligations around tax and business records.
- Measuring how the site and our advertising perform. Your consent, given or refused in the cookie banner and changeable at any time.
Cookies and measurement
Nothing is measured until you accept it. The Google tags on this site load with every storage type set to denied, so no analytics or advertising cookie is written to your device unless you choose “Accept” in the banner. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie, and it never leaves your device.
If you do accept, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to see which pages are read, which advertising brings people here, and whether the call, WhatsApp and enquiry buttons are used. We look at that as totals rather than to work out who you are, but Google also uses what it collects for its own purposes, which are set out in its own privacy policy.
You can change your mind at any time using the control at the end of this page. Clearing your choice stops the measurement immediately and brings the banner back.
Who else sees it
- Our web host, which runs the server this site and the enquiry log sit on.
- Our email providers, because an enquiry reaches us as an email.
- Our customer records system, Zoho Bigin, where an enquiry becomes a contact and a job we are quoting for. Its servers are in the European Union.
- Google, whose services we use in two ways: a spreadsheet that records every enquiry the website sends, and (only if you accepted it in the banner) the measurement described above.
- WhatsApp, if you choose to message us that way. That conversation goes through their service on their terms, not ours.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone else for their marketing. Some of these providers handle information outside the UK: our records system stores it in the European Union, and Google may process it further afield. Where that happens it is done under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry while we are dealing with it, and afterwards for as long as we may reasonably need it, to answer questions about a job we quoted for or carried out, and to meet our legal and tax obligations. That applies to all of the places listed above: our email, our customer records, the spreadsheet and the log on our web server. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will remove them from all of them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, where we have no reason to keep it;
- stop using it, or limit what we use it for;
- hand it to you or to another provider in a portable form;
- stop measuring your visit, by withdrawing your consent.
To do any of that, call 07506 144 711 or send us a message through the enquiry form. We will answer within one month. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would rather you came to us first, so we can put it right.
Other websites
This site links out to a few others: our Google Business Profile, and Dchampion Roofing, who we work alongside. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy rather than this one.
Children
This site is for people arranging building work. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This is the first version.
